March 10

Theft – Bldg. 2

At 4:56 p.m., Public Safety received a report of a stolen mountain bike. The victim said he parked his bike in the rack on the south side of Bldg. 2 at 12:30 p.m. The bike was missing when he returned at 4:50 p.m. He was advised to call the Marion County Sheriff Department.

March 12

Criminal Mischief – Bldg. 7

At 10:25 a.m., a Public Safety officer responded to a report of graffiti in the men’s locker room. The graffiti was gang-related.

March 13

Theft – Bldg. 25

At 2:56 p.m., a Public Safety officer was dispatched to a report of a theft outside Bldg. 25. An employee of Cedar Landscaping had left a two rolls of copper wire, a handsaw, and a measuring tape outside the building the previous day. They were missing when he returned. Building employees said they did not notice any suspicious activity.

March 16

Theft – Bldg. 51-103

At 4:58 p.m., a Public Safety officer was dispatched to a theft. An instructor left her purse on the floor by her desk at 9 a.m. She noticed that it was missing at 4:45 p.m. when she prepared to leave. Among the contents were a wallet, $10 in cash, a debit card, and a car key. She was advised to make a report to the Marion County Sheriff Department.

March 19

Theft from Vehicle – Purple Lot

At 12:11 p.m., a Public Safety officer received a report while on patrol of the theft of a purse and some change from a Chevrolet Cavalier. The theft occurred between 7:30 and 11:05 a.m. The owner had left the vehicle unlocked.

March 26

Criminal Mischief – Bldg. 49

At 9:09 a.m., an officer responded to a report of graffiti on the north side of Bldg. 49. Graffiti also was placed on a light pole and a garbage can. The graffiti was removed.

March 27

Criminal Mischief- Bldg. 9

At 6:20 p.m., graffiti was observed on a picnic table by a Public Safety officer. A work order was put in to remove it.

Theft from Vehicle – Green Lot

At 1:46 p.m., a Public Safety officer investigated a theft in the green parking lot. The owner of a pickup reported the theft of six debit/credit cards, a Social Security card, and $100 in cash. One of the cards had already been used on Lancaster Drive. The victim said he locked the truck but suspected that he had accidentally unlocked it with his key fob. He was given the phone number of the Marion County Sheriff’ Department, the Social Security Fraud Alert hotline, and the names of credit reporting agencies.

March 30

Criminal Mischief Yamhill Valley Campus

At 10:52 a.m., a Public Safety officer saw graffiti on an equipment storage shed on the north-east corner of the campus that appeared to be gang related. The officer requested the video from the external cameras. The graffiti was removed.

Theft from Vehicle – Purple Lot

At 4:33 p.m., a Public Safety officer was flagged down by the owner of a Honda Civic, who reported the theft of his stereo. The theft occurred between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry. The suspect left behind a bottle of dietary supplement pills, which were taken into evidence.

Theft – Yamhill Valley Campus

At 5:10 p.m., an officer was approached by a student who reported the theft of a blue 10-speed bicycle. The officer requested the video from the external cameras.

Theft from Vehicle – Purple Lot

At 5:38 p.m., Public Safety received a report of the theft of a stereo face plate and $20 in cash. The theft occurred between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. The victim was unsure if her doors were locked.

March 31

Theft from Vehicle – Brown Lot

At 1:29 p.m., an officer responded to a vehicle break-in. The rear passenger window was broken. The crime occurred between 12:20 and 1:20 p.m. Among the items taken were the faceplate to the stereo, a pair of binoculars, and a gym bag. The officer photographed the scene.

Criminal Mischief – Red Lot

At 7:19 p.m., graffiti was spotted on the Team Oregon cargo box while on patrol. A request was sent to have the graffiti removed.

April 7

Theft – Bldg. 2

At 12:34 p.m., an officer responded to the reported theft of a mountain bike. The victim said the theft took place between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The front wheel was left in the rack. The incident was reported to the Marion County Sheriff Department.

Theft- Blue Lot

At 4:12 p.m., an officer was advised of the theft of a parking permit. The area was checked for the permit and nothing was found. The victim was issued a new permit.
