On The Spot: Have you heard of the Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake? If so, are you prepared?

Cynthia Zirdia, first-year dental hygiene student

“No to both questions. I know that there is supposed to be some earthquake, supposedly, that is going to be dramatic. If there were an earthquake that big I don’t think I’d be prepared at my house or with supplies.”

Keaton Jones, second-year nursing student

“I have yeah, but no, I’m not as prepared as I should be. I’d say mentally but, not when it comes to the supplies involved. Like if it actually happened right now I’d probably die.”

Tony Lopez, first-year forensics student

“No I don’t, and probably not. For now, I’ll find a door frame or desk to hide under.”

Lucas Frye, first-year computer science student

“Yeah, the absolutely gigantic earthquake. I’m not really prepared; I keep about enough food for the next couple days at my house. I don’t really know what you would need for an earthquake besides food and water.”
