Disturbance – Bldg. 50
At 7:56 p.m., a Public Safety officer responded to a report of two males fighting. The officer requested additional units for backup. When backup arrived, one suspect had left the scene. The remaining man said he had been fighting with his step-father. He was uncooperative and left the scene. The Marion County Sheriff Department was notified, and the step-father was sent a trespassing citation.
Criminal Mischief Bldg. 9
At 3:01 p.m., an officer responded to a report of graffiti in the men’s restroom. A work order for removal was written.
Theft from vehicle – Orange Lot
AT 11:37 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a vehicle break-in. A student reported the theft of a tote bag containing athletic clothing. She had not locked her vehicle. The theft occurred between 1 and 4:30 p.m. The victim declined to contact the sheriff department.
Theft – Bldg. 3
At 7:49 p.m., an officer responded to the theft of a bike that had been locked in the rack outside of Bldg. 3. The theft occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. The officer checked the nearby garbage cans for the lock and found nothing. The owner contacted the sheriff department.
Criminal Mischief – Bldg. 48
At 7:30 a.m., an officer discovered graffiti on the Maps Credit Union sign near Lancaster Drive. The officer submitted a work order to have the graffiti removed.
Disturbance – Bldg. 2
At 6:48 p.m., an officer investigated a male trying to start a fight at the Peace Gardens fountain near Bldg. 2. Three students were walking near the garden when the man accused them of insulting him. One of the men called Public Safety. The officer issued a citation for trespassing.
Disturbance – Bldg. 51
At 7:36 p.m., an officer on patrol near Bldg. 51 noticed three males in an aggressive stance, preparing to fight. One male tried to leave the scene as the officer arrived. The officer was informed that the fleeing male had pepper spray and had allegedly used it on one of the men. The officer called for a cover unit and pursued the third man, who was caught and handcuffed. Questioning revealed that the man was not a student. He was cited for trespassing and left campus. The sheriff department was notified of the incident.
