On the Spot: Summer tuition increase
Starting this summer, there will be a tuition increase of $6 per credit. We asked what students thought about the upcoming tuition hike.

I don’t think it’s a good idea because, as students, most are going full-time and if they are going part-time they’re working, and it’s really hard to juggle work and go to school at the same time and be successful. So, the lower the tuition would be better honestly.
I didn’t know about that to, I don’t think that it’s a good idea to increase like the tuition increase. A lot of people are going to complain about that, me I didn’t know about that [unintelligible].
I also didn’t know about that, but I don’t know what to say about that. For me, it can be [unintelligible] only 6 dollars. And I’m an international student […] my sponsor is going to ask me why the tuition is increasing, and if I could give him an explanation, I don’t think it’s a good idea, if they increase now in this moment. It’s going to be worse later.
Well this is a community college where people are already struggling as is, I personally am. So, it wouldn’t go well with my financial [state] personally. Others I [believe] is going through the same thing.
