Ribbon cut to new Veterans’ Resource Center
With funding from Oregon House Bill 143, Chemeketa Community College opened a new space for veterans in Bldg. 2, Room 116. A student cut the ribbon as Chemeketa instructor Rep. Paul Evans (D-Ore. 20) looked on from the right of the door. Veterans’ Coordinator Jon Terrazas then entered the new space.
“We’re very fortunate and excited to have the number of veterans in the community to come out and support this event,” said Terrazas. “We’re really hoping to bring them in to really sit down at an outreach table and really get connected to the veterans that we have, because a majority of them, unlike regular students, really need student support services that the community can really help provide and that’s one of the things that we wanna do with our Veteran Resource Center is open the door and really help bring the community in to be connected to our vets.”
