After a demanding five-game weekend, the Chemeketa Women’s Volleyball team accomplished their number one goal for the 2017 season: win the NWAC Championships. Riding the wave of their recent South Region Conference victory, the Storm swept the tournament in Tacoma, WA. It was the team’s fourth NWAC title overall and its first since 2008. In addition to bringing home the trophy, several individual players also received recognition. Freshman setter Jane Cale was crowned Most Valuable Player of the tournament and sophomore outside hitter Haley Patterson won Most Inspirational. Sophomores Ialah Ochse and Morgan Bolger were also honored, filling the tournament’s First and Second Teams, respectively. Chemeketa’s Traci Stephenson procured Coach of the Year, following her seventh season at the college. The Storm finished with 30 wins and 4 losses overall, the latter of which all occurred in the pre-season.
